My Journey with Cacao
From a young age, cacao has been a constant presence in my life, intricately woven into my journey for the past 18 years. Over five transformative years, I immersed myself in the world of cacao and bean-to-bar chocolate, discovering its magic and potential.
After two years of travel, I returned to Ōtautahi, Christchurch, and reconnected with Oonagh, reigniting my relationship with cacao.
In 2021, I completed The Cacao Ambassador Emissary training, gaining a new perspective on the power of this sacred medicine. The Cacao Ambassador stands as a modern voice for this ancient medicine, honouring the farmers who cultivate it, serving as an educational guide for those ready to discover its wonders, and nurturing new possibilities with love.
At the beginning of 2022, life took a profound turn. I faced a heavy wave of grief and depression following a missed miscarriage, leaving me feeling lost and in darkness. It was in this vulnerable moment that cacao revealed its true strength as a source of support.
I leaned into the nourishing embrace of this plant medicine, finding both emotional and physical solace.
It was during a heartfelt meeting with Oonagh, while I was curled up on my couch battling nausea and despair, that I found a flicker of hope.
Oonagh illuminated a new path for me, showing me that cacao was the way forward.
I committed to my vision as a Cacao Ambassador, dedicating five hours a week to this calling. The past three years have been nothing short of extraordinary—an expansive journey where cacao has supported me on mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual levels.
This relationship has been one of the most joyous and transformative experiences of my life.
Cacao has given me the courage to confront the limitations and barriers I built around my heart. Through faith and trust, I’ve embraced the healing that follows the storms of life.
Cacao is a love like no other—an unwavering pillar of strength in my life, embodying the deepest depths of love, joy, and gratitude. This journey has not only transformed me but has shown me the incredible potential of cacao as a medicine and a source of unconditional support.
